The president of Etna Valley, Eng. Emanuele Spampinato, participated this morning at “Etna Start Up Valley”, conference dedicated to start up and technologies developed under Etna Vulcan, within the week celebration for the first anniversary of the admission of Etna in the Unesco World Heritage List (21 June). At the meeting took part also, Rosario Faraci, President of Capitt Unict and Antonio Musumeci of WCap Catania and also important start up born in Etna area such as Flazio and Orange Fiber.
The events, that will go on till Saturday 21 June, organized by Catania Municipality and Parco dell’Etna, in collaboration with Ingv, Cnr and University of Catania, with the coordination of Turi Caggegi, president of iEtna.it, website with app for Smartphone dedicated to the mountain, started yesterday at Palazzo della Cultura in Catania (Via Vittorio Emanuele, 121).
“Catania – underlined the mayor Enzo Bianco – is one of the few cities in the world that has been added twice in the World Heritage list: its Baroque and, a year ago, also the great natural open laboratory Etna Vulcan. With its eruption is the biggest burning torch in Mediterranean Sea that called, since prehistory, ships bringing merchants and, today, tourists”.
Event has been open with the theme: “Etna as a resource, food & wine, tourism, reputation”, with the presence of ezio Raggio of Ivalsa Institute of Cnr of Catania and Benedetto Puglisi, territorial marketing Professor at University of Catania. Besides the gastronomic aspect and innovation during the week the other subjects will be tourism, cinema, literature, science, Vulcan monitoring systems and other themes linked with the life of the Vulcan. The celebration week will be concluded by the astronomic observation of the summer solstice sky from the charming Platamone Palace
