Archicart project, one of the finalists of the contests StartUp Academy and StartCup Catania 2014, won the first edition of StartCup Sicilia 2014, where the best teams from the StartCup of four Sicilian University (Catania, Messina, Enna and Palermo) competed for the National Prize for Innovation (that will be in Sassari on 4th and 5th December).
Archicart is a innovative business project introducing wave cardboard for housing purposes: a cheap, easy to find, strong and recyclable material. PACO, wave cardboard alveolar panel technology has already been patented and other technologies have been testing in order to produce light covering materials such as partitions, walls, garrets…
The winning business plan has been presented by Prof. Vincenzo Sapienza from DARC of University of Catania, students from Construction Engineering and Architecture Dario Luigi Di Stefano and Raoul Vecchio, Martina Racco (Economics) Gianfranco Di Stefano (Computer Engineering) and Dario Tizzoni (Information Technology).
The Archicart team has been awarded during the ceremony held at ARCA, the startup accelerator of the University of Palermo, on Friday 24th October. At the ceremony participated: Dr. Vincenzo Tuminello (UNICREDIT Manager for Sicilian Territories development) and the StartCups coordinators: Giovanni Perrone (Palermo), Rosario Faraci (Catania), Daniela Baglieri (Messina), Vincenzo Fasone (Enna).
