URBAN ENVIROMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Importing rainfall and air temperature data gathered by 264 ground sensors, managed by three different sensor networks;
  • Passing time series data through numerous quality control checks, aggregating and interpolating them spatially to calculate the average hourly/daily rainfall and air temperature time series for each catchment basin larger than 50 km2;
  • Running a custom hydrological balance model that is used to calculate the soil moisture of each catchment basin (Module SMA).
  • Assessing the flood susceptibility of each basin depending from its current soil moisture;
  • Assessing the flood risk by comparing the flood susceptibility of each basin with the 3-6-12-24 hours rainfall forecast;
  • Issuing a warning for each basin where the forecast flood risk is above a threshold.
  • Availability of reports for single topic;
  • Availability of aggregate reporting.
